Jaworzno is a town located in southern Poland, Śląskie Voivodeship (Province), at the eastern edge of the Upper Silesian Industrial Area.

The oldest settlements were established at the end of the 12th and beginning of the 13th century - the first reference to Jaworzno, Byczyn, Ciężkowice ans Dłygoszyn appeared in the years 1229-1243.
