VTT ~ Dutch Painting from the Hermitage

Here come again with Vintage Thingies Thursday. Peter de Hooch (1629 - 1684) created this fascinating painting called "A Mistress and Her Maid" in 1660.

The actual painting is kept at The State Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg. I love the stamps, thanks to Inge from Netherlands who sent this to me.

  1. I never think of Dutch paintings as having such vivid colors as the red of this woman's skirt. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Thank you for sharing your dutch painting with us. I wish I could have spent more time in museums in Europe when visiting. I love art. Please head on over to see my Papa's works of art in the Cathedrals of Southern Italy. I'm proud of to say they are masterpieces and that my daddy did them. The photos are several posts down from this one.
