Takayama Festival in Japan

Arrrh.. I'm not quite sure myself whether this postcard represents Takayama Festival. Since my friend, OH, didn't write the name of festival for me. In fact, she didn't know it herself, she only remember that on festival people will carry this and celebrate in the city. Probably she had so much fun that time.

I tried to search in internet and guess this Takayama Festival is the name for it. More info you can see here

Postcard was sent on Apr 18, 2001. Thank you very much my friend :)

It card was used as Advertiment in some years ago, it said Marathon Surfing for dial-up user. As the statistics have shown, the majority of internet users in Thailand still rely on dial-up access. However, broadband Internet is readily available in major cities and towns these days. I'm not quite sure whether we need this Marathon Surfing while broadband offers unlimited usage.

Got this blank card from Yo again, thanks a bunch!

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania ranked in the top five Most Livable Cities in the 1983, 1985, 1989 and 2007 editions of the "Places Rated Almanac." However, what make me recall about this city name is one plan crashed there during 9/11 tragedy.

Fukuoka is Kyushu's largest and one of Japan's ten most populated cities. Today's Fukuoka is the product of the fusion of two cities in the year 1889, when the port city of Hakata and the former castle town of Fukuoka were united into one city called Fukuoka. Hakata remains the name of one of Fukuoka's central districts and of the main railway station.

Stamp from Tokyo

I got this written postcard from Fukumi in Tokyo, it has beautiful stamps on it, but the back side of the card was just her writing, not any photo or places to share.

Only show you how beautiful stamps are.

Zebra in Namibia

No animal has a more distinctive coat than the zebra. Each animal's stripes are as unique as fingerprints—no two are exactly alike—although each of the three species has its own general pattern.

I got this card in Namibia, thinking it is very unique and it above description from National Geographic give the same thought.

City of Johannesburg

I spent time there for one day during August 2008, it was very interesting for me to see lot of difference things over there. Johannesburg is well known in short as Jo-Burg or Jozi. The heartbeat of the country. It's the economic and cultural centre of South Africa, where people work hard and play harder.
These two cards I bought them at Johannesburg Airport, wanted to keep in my blank card collection. One represent the beautiful night light, and another one showing sun rise bring the shine to city. The back side of each card showing the animal footprint, not sure you can see it clearly. It is very cute.

Temple of the Emerald Buddha, Bangkok

On the same day I visited Temple of Dawn, I also went to the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. It has Thai common name in short as Wat Phra Kaew. It is also generally known to the Thais as Wat Phra Si Rattana Satsadaram, is perhaps the main attraction. This is Thailand's most important and sacred temple, so you're expected to act with due respect inside it.

Temple of Dawn, Bangkok

I've been to Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun) just one time in 2008, it was good fun and the weather is hot as typically Thai style hot. The temple was built during the Ayutthaya period and was originally called Wat Makok after the name of the local village Tambol Bangmakok. It means "Village of Olives". Wat Arun gets its name from Aruna, the Indian god of the dawn, hence its common name The Temple of Dawn.

I bought these two cards myself and keep it as blank card collection.
